Dive into my story
Why Photography?
Growing up,
my mom always had a camera in her hand. At the time, I didn’t appreciate it — I’d get frustrated, roll my eyes, and beg not to stop whatever I was doing just to pose for a photo. But now, looking back, those photos are some of my most treasured possessions. They captured fleeting moments I didn’t realize I’d want to hold onto forever.
When I was 12, I lost my dad. That loss gave those photographs an entirely new meaning. I would give anything to step back into those memories, to hear his laugh, to relive even just a moment of those days. That’s when I truly understood the value of preserving life as it happens — the ordinary days, the little looks, the quiet love.
Photography became more than just a creative outlet for me. It became a way to honor my past, to celebrate the present, and to give others the gift of memory. I wholeheartedly believe my parents are the reason photography means so much to me — and why I feel so honored every time I get to document someone else’s story.
High school is really where my love for photography began to take shape. My best friend, Cloe, and I would spend afternoons driving around town, dressing up, doing our hair and makeup, and taking photos of each other on our phones — just for fun. I had downloaded Lightroom Mobile and started experimenting with filters and editing, and it didn’t take long before I realized how much I loved the creative process.
During my junior year, right around Christmas, I bought my first camera — a Nikon D3500. It was a great beginner camera, but honestly, I didn’t use it much at first. For some reason, I stuck with my phone for most of my photos, until one day I finally picked it up to photograph Cloe and a few family members. That was the moment everything clicked. I fell in love with it immediately.
I started an Instagram account — the same one I use today — and made a post looking for people to model for me, just so I could keep practicing. I had no idea where it would lead, but something in me knew I had to follow it.
I graduated high school in 2021, right in the middle of the COVID pandemic. Like so many others at that time, I had no idea what I wanted to do next. College felt uncertain, and I couldn’t see a clear career path in front of me — but I did know I had photography.
By the end of my senior year, I had started booking more sessions, especially with other seniors, and I fell in love with capturing those once-in-a-lifetime moments. My work was growing, my confidence was building, and for the first time, I was able to raise my prices and charge what I was worth.
So instead of rushing into a college program or picking a path just for the sake of having one, I gave myself permission to stick with photography. I figured I’d keep going until another passion came along. But the truth is, photography was the passion. The only one that ever made me feel like I was doing what I was meant to do. The only one I could pour my heart into, day after day, without growing tired of it.
Is it hard? Of course. There are days where I wonder if life might be simpler with a more traditional job — something with less stress, less responsibility. But every time I imagine walking away, I come right back to photography. It’s where I feel most grounded. Most alive. Most myself.
And the more I leaned into it, the more I realized: this wasn’t just a phase. It was the beginning of something real.

When it got real...
Officially a business!!
The years 2022 and 2023 were when things got real. I had moved out of my mom’s house and into a cozy loft I rented from my aunt and uncle in the small town of Pikeville. For the first time, I was living on my own — supporting myself and my sweet dog Charles, chasing my dreams, and learning what it meant to be independent.
Photography officially became more than just a passion. I turned it into a business — one I believed in. But just in case it didn’t work out, I also completed a phlebotomy program and graduated, giving myself a backup plan. Still, all my energy and heart were going into photography.
That’s when I really started to invest in myself. I took a workshop with Payton Herring Photography — someone I highly recommend to anyone looking to grow in this industry. It changed everything for me. I learned so much about building a strong business and creating a meaningful, unforgettable client experience.
During those years, I photographed headshots, met and connected with other photographers, and began to see the world a little differently — through both my lens and my life. It felt like everything I had worked for was starting to take shape.
Those two years laid the foundation for everything my business is today — and looking back, I’m so proud of how far I came.

2023 brought something even more life-changing than I could have imagined — it’s the year I met the love of my life, Logan. From the very beginning, he has been my biggest supporter and constant encourager. He believes in me, even on the days when I struggle to believe in myself, and I’m endlessly grateful for him.
Logan is one of the most hardworking and determined people I’ve ever met. He inspires me daily — not just as a partner, but as someone I truly look up to. His support has been a huge part of why I’ve continued to pursue photography with so much heart, even when things get hard.
We met in October of 2023, and not long after, we got married in 2024. Today, we’re proud parents to the sweetest baby girl, Darla — and yes, she really is the cutest thing you’ll ever see. It’s wild to think how one spark of love could grow into something so big, so meaningful, and so full of joy. Becoming a wife and a mother has changed my perspective in the most beautiful way — not just in life, but in how I photograph it, too.
Because now more than ever, I understand just how precious these moments really are.

Looking into the future!
I know this journey is only just beginning. There’s so much more growth, learning, and experience ahead, and I’m excited for every step of it. I’m committed to continuously elevating the client experience, investing in my business, and creating photographs that are not only beautiful but deeply meaningful. It’s only by God’s grace and the unwavering support of my family and friends that I’ve come this far—turning a dream into a career. I’m profoundly grateful for the early clients who believed in me when I was still finding my way, and to those who continue to trust me today. Your support has truly shaped this path.
